Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf says centre Herbie Farnworth will miss “at least four or six weeks” after suffering a hamstring injury in his team’s thrilling 20-18 win over the Warriors in Auckland.
Farnworth started brilliantly, scoring the first try of the game just four minutes in.
But later in the first half, Farnworth was making a bust with the ball, and as he got to the Warriors’ 40 metre line, Farnworth dropped to the ground and grabbed his hamstring.
He was then attended to by Dolphins’ medical staff, and left the field and went up the tunnel, and didn’t return to the game.

Farnworth will have scans on the injury when he returns to Australia.
Woolf gave an update on Farnworth’s injury in the post-game press conference.
“Look, it’s obviously a hamstring. It’s going to be some sort of period (on the sidelines). How bad it is, we don’t quite know yet,” Woolf said.
“But it’s not a little strain. It’s going to be, I would have thought, at least four or six weeks or something like that.
“To lose Herbie early like we did, you could see he was ready to go too.
“He started the game extremely well. So obviously it’s a big hit for us.”
While the Dolphins will be devastated to lose Farnworth, they snatched a stunning victory over the Warriors.
Trailing 18-16 in the dying stages, winger Jamayne Isaako won the game for his team, with a try on what turned out to be the final play of the game.
The victory was all the more impressive, given the Dolphins finished the game with 12 men, with Felise Kaufusi sin binned at the 73rd minute.
The win over a top four opponent was a crucial one for the Dolphins, as they look to lock in a finals appearance for the first time in their short history.

“Oh, it’s a big one for us,” Woolf said of the win.
“We give ourselves a chance for the finals obviously.
“We knew that with six games to go that we put it in our own hands and it just keeps it that way.
“We’ve still got a couple more that we need to win if we think we’re going to play finals and we also need to worry about what’s right in front of us and that’s the Roosters next week.
“But what we need to do first and foremost is enjoy tonight.”
