LIV Golf star Sergio Garcia’s blow up caused a stir in the final round of The Masters as the 2017 champion received a public dressing down from Augusta National officials following his outburst.
The 46-year-old Spaniard smashed his driver on the second tee, and then broke the shaft by whacking a water cooler.

He went on to par the hole, but that was his only reprieve.
“Geoff Yang, the chairman of the competition committee, spoke to Sergio on the 4th tee and gave him a code of conduct warning,” journalist Duncan Ferguson posted on social media.
Garcia has a history of bad behaviour, having done the same thing at last year’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush as well as injuring his shoulder at the 2017 Open when he took his frustration out on a bush.
In 2019, he was also disqualified from the Saudi International for damaging a green.
Garcia shot a three-over par 75 in the final round to finish eight-over for the tournament.
When asked post-round about his dummy spit, Garcia replied: “Just obviously not super proud of it, but sometimes it happens.”
Garcia was also asked what Yang said to him when he issued the code of conduct warning. He responded: “I’m not going to tell you.”
