Fremantle’s finals fate rests in its hands in the final game of the 2024 AFL home-and-away season.
The Dockers (12-9-1, 113.7%) began the round in ninth, but after Carlton fell in heartbreaking fashion to St Kilda earlier on Sunday, they are well and truly in the finals race — win and they’re in.
The Power (15-7, 114.2%) were also watching their rivals on Sunday, with a GWS loss earlier in the day meaning they’ll finish second as long as they don’t lose by more than four goals.

Port Adelaide has won five of its past six matches against Fremantle.

The Fremantle supporters in attendance at Optus Stadium are in terrific spirits after watching live on the big screen as St Kilda’s Jack Higgins broke Carlton hearts at Marvel Stadium to keep their team’s finals hopes alive.
However, it was Port Adelaide who drew first blood through Darcy Byrne-Jones. Fremantle’s Sam Switkowski tied the scores before Willem Drew snapped the visitors back in front.
The Dockers have squandered a pair of golden opportunities in front of goal, still trailing the Power in the early going.
But then the hosts got the ball rolling with goals to Jye Amiss, Nathan O’Driscoll and Patrick Voss, establishing a 14-point lead.
Port pegged back their deficit to eight points via Willie Rioli. That eight-point difference would last to quarter-time.
A stirring goal on the run from Jason Horne-Francis — who also played a part in the build-up — reduced Port’s deficit to four points.
Fremantle has 10 scoring shots to the Power’s four for just a six-point lead. Justin Longmuir’s side is letting chances go begging.
