English recruit Tom Curran is widely regarded as a T20 weapon.
But no one told that to Stars opening partnership Sam Harper and Tom Rogers, who dispatched the crafty all-rounder for 20 off his first over as a Sixers player.
Curran landed in Australia fresh off a stellar campaign for the Desert Vipers in the ILT20, where he won player of the final.
His over started with a wide, before Harper belted a shorter delivery for four, with the next ball resulting in a three, bringing Rogers on strike who cleared the ropes.
Seven more runs came from the final three balls, including a crafty ramp which left Sydney’s import deflated.
Interestingly, the Stars finished their power play on only 34, meaning 14 runs came from the three other overs to start the innings.
