Conor McGregor has doubled down on his return to the octagon as combat sports fans await an official announcement during UFC 300.
McGregor, who has long been slated for a bout against lightweight contender Michael Chandler, appeared to confirm via Instagram he would face the former Bellator champ on June 29.

The Irishman wrote: “THE FIGHT IS ON! MCGREGOR VS CHANDLER! See you on the date I said.”
The caption was accompanied with a picture of McGregor facing off against a man dressed in a yellow Teletubby suit as opposed to Chandler himself.
It is unknown if McGregor will attend UFC 300 in person, but Chandler is set to appear at the showpiece event.
Chandler arrived just hours ahead of the UFC 300 press conference, fuelling whispers his fight against McGregor would be made official.

However, White told fans to not “believe anything you read on the internet”.
Although White didn’t confirm anything during the press conference, there’s every chance the UFC president could make a bombshell announcement during the UFC 300 broadcast given the millions of combat sports fans set to tune in.
The fighters competing on the UFC 300 card will undoubtedly want to put on a show too given White revealed he had upped the fight bonuses to $300,000 to reflect the magnitude of the occasion.
