The NFL trade deadline is under 15 hours away and while it looks like there won’t be blockbuster moves like last year, there are still a few big names to monitor.

Read on below for all the key storylines, players and teams to watch ahead of the deadline and follow along for the latest updates right until 4pm ET (7am AEDT).

Purdy crashes back to earth after loss | 02:08

WHY IT IS NOW HARDER FOR TITANS TO MOVE HENRY

Derrick Henry did not restructure his contract by 4 p.m. on Tuesday [AEDT], per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, making it harder for the Titans to trade him before Wednesday’s deadline.

The star running back has $5.5 million due on his contract — he’s in the final year of a four-year $50 million deal — likely more than a team wants to pay for a short-term rental.

The 29-year-old has been connected to several teams, chiefly the Ravens, ahead of Wednesday, but the likelihood of him finding a new home has now diminished further.

At 3-4, the Titans seemed headed for a deadline overhaul after trading Kevin Byard to the Eagles, though Will Levis’ spectacular first NFL game may have Tennessee thinking about seeing what they can do this season.

But they aren’t ruling out anything just yet.

“We owe it to the team to listen as diligently as possible on anybody that would call regardless of player, person or position, just to make sure that we’re doing right by the football team,” coach Mike Vrabel said.

EAGLES ARE ACTUALLY SELLERS FOR ONCE

The Eagles are on the other end of a trade for once.

Philly is sending DL Kentavius Street and a seventh-round pick (2025) to the Falcons for a sixth-rounder in 2026, according to multiple reports on Tuesday.

The move helps fill Grady Jarrett’s void in Atlanta after he suffered a torn ACL.

It’s the second move in a few days for the Eagles, who acquired safety Kevin Byard on Oct. 23 — and all signs hint at GM Howie Roseman not being done yet. He’s reportedly looking for a linebacker to add to his defence.

“I’ve talked to tons of NFL teams around the league and it’s like ‘Yeah, Howie’s calling, of course Howie is calling.’ and Howie is not done, by the way,” The Athletic’s Dianna Russini said last week on the “Ryen Russillo Podcast.”

COMMANDERS LOOK SET TO MAKE MOVES

Chase Young and Montez Sweat are popular names in trade rumours ahead of Wednesday’s deadline.

Pundits and fans everywhere are talking about them, with one notable person keeping quiet: Ron Rivera.

The Commanders coach, for a second straight day, declined to share any thoughts about his two pass-rushing stars.

“Once we get past tomorrow, we’ll probably have something to talk about,” Rivera told reporters on Monday.

Narrowing it down, it will either be continued presences on the Washington roster, or the returns received for them.

SEATTLE LAND STAR DEFENSIVE LINEMAN

And just like that, he’s gone.

DL Leonard Williams was traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2024 2nd-round pick and a 2025 5th-round pick.

It’s a nice haul for the Giants, who desperately need to stock up on draft capital.

As for Seattle, they sit atop the NFC West at 5-2 and now can go toe-to-toe with their division foes, the 49ers.

With a crushing 13-10 OT loss to the Jets, the Giants have little left to play for.

Expect veterans Adoree’ Jackson and Parris Campbell to also potentially be on the block.

It’s clear the Giants have concerns at multiple positions. For Joe Schoen and Co., their best path forward is to stock up on draft capital and address the elephant in the room, the O-line.

As for Saquon Barkley, Coach Daboll shot down those rumours last week.

But the NFL’s a business after all. Never say never.

BILLS ADD TO RUNNING BACK ROOM

The Buffalo Bills were looking for a RB and finally settled on one.

Instead of parting with any assets to acquire one via trade, they opted to sign veteran Leonard Fournette.

This likely takes Buffalo out of the Derrick Henry sweepstakes.

Buffalo (5-3) is second in the AFC East and have a pivotal matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

SO, HOW COMMON AT PRE-DEADLINE DEALS?

The rumour mill is heating up with high-profile names like Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill and others thought to be available.

But will we have to wait until the deadline Oct. 31 (4 pm) to see any action?

Here’s a look at some of the deals that have happened prior to the deadline in previous years.

Per Schefter’s list, it looks like we can expect some action ahead of the official deadline.

Who’s buying and who’s selling seem to be the million-dollar questions.

For one, Eagles GM Howie Roseman always seems to be buying, and with the Eagles now 7-1, look for them to potentially add another name on defence.

As for sellers, Denver and Washington have been among the most mentioned.

Montez Sweat and Chase Young could fetch a nice return for the Commanders. And Jerry Jeudy could help Denver build draft capital after a rocky start to the Russell Wilson era.

COULD THE VIKINGS SCRAMBLE TO GET QB HELP BEFORE THE DEADLINE?

The Minnesota Vikings are in a dilemma.

They’ve rebounded from their slow start and now find themselves 4-4, good for second in the NFC North.

But just when things were going well, Kirk Cousins suffered a brutal achilles injury against the Green Bay Packers.

Recently, star LB Danielle Hunter, who leads the NFL in sacks (10.0), has been rumoured to be available.

However, the price is steep and the Vikings will only move him if they’re blown away by the offer according to ProFootball Talk.

If they decide to keep Hunter and try and remain competitive without Cousins, they could look for QB help.

A few QB names they could consider: Case Keenum (Texans), Ryan Tannehill (Titans), Trey Lance (Cowboys) and Jameis Winston (Saints).

HOW ABOUT KYLER MURRAY?

One of the highest-profile names in the rumour mill was Arizona QB Kyler Murray. Scratch him off the list for now.

It looks like Murray will make his return soon from an ACL injury.

He’ll be doing so in a Cardinals uniform according to the Athletic’s Senior NFL Insider Dianna Russini.

Despite their 1-7 record, the Cardinals have been pesky this season, and likely want to evaluate if Murray is their No. 1 QB moving forward.
