The Sydney Thunder have won the bat flip and will bowl first to open up their Big Bash campaign this season against the Brisbane Heat at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
The Thunder are the last team to begin their BBL13 campaign, while the Heat are coming off a big win over the stars followed by an abandoned match against the Strikers due to rain.

For the Thunder, English import Alex Hales needs just one six to reach the 100 maximums mark in BBL cricket and will again lead the charge at the top of the order along with youngster Jason Sangha.
If he reaches the mark against the Heat, Hales will become just the fifth men’s player to do so after Chris Lynn (194), Aaron Finch (118), Ben McDermott (111) and Glenn Maxwell (110).
Stalwarts Daniel Sams and skipper Chris Green will be the danger men with the ball for the Thunder.
For the Heat, Colin Munro has got off to a flyer smashing 99 not out in his first game, while Max Bryant and Sam Billings have also been in good form.
Veterans Xavier Bartlett and Mitchell Swepson will lead the charge with the ball for the Heat.
