Broncos star Ezra Mam has reportedly rejected Spencer Leniu’s offer of a face-to-face apology for calling him a “monkey” during their Las Vegas clash on Sunday.
The Courier Mail is reporting Leniu offered to fly to Brisbane in a peace offering after admitting to saying the racial slur on Thursday in a club statement.
The Roosters recruit wanted to settle things with Mam and the clubs reportedly were in contact regarding the potential meeting.

The Broncos then informed Mam and his mother, an Indigenous elder who has played a vital role in Queensland’s Deadly Choices program, that Leniu had reached out.
But Mam has reportedly turned down the offer as he deals with the impact of the comment and the incidents which occured after the game in the team hotel.
Mam will not have to tell his side of events in the NRL judiciary but was prepared to front the board if required.
Leniu’s admission of guilt means Mam isn’t required to be present during his sentencing hearing after being hit with a contrary conduct charge.
Leniu is reportedly hopeful he can speak to Mam in the future and settle things between the pair.

The Broncos released a statement on Thursday that read “There is no place for racism in our game or in our society”.
“The Broncos acknowledge Spencer’s apology to Ezra and the importance of taking that step.
“The Club respects the NRL Judiciary process that is still to play out and we will make no further comment on that.
“Ezra’s wellbeing has been our primary concern from the start. He has been well-supported within our club and we will continue to focus on that in the time ahead.”
