A man has been arrested for allegedly sending a series of threatening messages to Adelaide Crows star Izak Rankine.
The 31-year old man from Kensington Gardens sent five threatening messages to Ranke on social media in September, police allege.
The Crows on Tuesday confirmed in a statement that two of its players had been targeted.

“Adelaide can confirm two of its players were subject to direct and significant threats on a social media platform,” the statement read.
“Subsequently, reports were made to South Australia Police in September which prompted investigations.
“The AFL Integrity Unit was advised of the matters and both players have been provided with the necessary and ongoing support.
“Any form of online abuse, discrimination or threatening behaviour is unacceptable and it has no place in our society.”
The threats allegedly came four days after Adelaide’s home qualifying loss to Collingwood, which Ranke missed through suspension for making a homophobic slur.
Rankine reported the matter to police, and after SAPOL Cybercrime Investigation Section spent months investigation the allegations, the man was arrested this week.
The man was charged with using carriage service in an offensive manner. He’s been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on January 30.
It comes after a stormy year for Rankine, who missed the finals series and won’t be eligible to return from his four-match ban for a homophobic until Round 2 in the 2026 season.
