St Kilda has just pulled off the greatest comeback in VFL/AFL history, turning around a 46-point deficit at three-quarter time to sink Melbourne following a Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera goal after the siren.
It was a bizarre fourth quarter filled with twists and turns everywhere — most notably in the final two minutes — as the Saints came storming home against all odds in the most shocking and unlikely circumstances.

It capped off one of the most wild — and miraculous — two-minute sequences we’ve ever seen.
It included a 6-6-6 infringement setting up Wanganeen-Milera’s match-winner — the out-of-contract Saints star’s second consecutive goal to drag his side over the line at Marvel Stadium.
Melbourne, who was held goalless in the fourth quarter compared to St Kilda’s nine majors, missed a crucial chance through Clayton Oliver to get a handy point — if nothing else — when it was up six points.
Oliver connected with Charlie Spargo one a one-two inside 50 with around two minutes remaining in the game, but his banana kick from 20 metres out went across the goals and out on the full.
Spargo quickly pushed the Dees back inside 50 after catching Liam Stocker holding the ball at half-forward as the clock ticked down to 90 seconds left.
But St Kilda won the clearance and surged the ball back onto the wing with a minute remaining on the clock.

The Saints won the next clearance and set up an epic Wanganeen-Milera hanger inside 50 from a slight angle with under a minute to play. Even Ross Lyon couldn’t help but get swept up in the emotion of the moment, celebrating and cracking a huge smile in the coaches box.
“Oh my god! Oh my god!,” Hawks legend Dermott Brereton declared. “Look at Ross Lyon, he can’t believe it!”
Fox Footy caller Dwayne Russell added: “Unbelievable!”
Wanganeen-Milera nailed the set shot to tie up the scores at 90 apiece with eight seconds left. And eight seconds was all the Saints needed, given the most unimaginable thing happened next.
Melbourne gave away a free kick in the centre for a 6-6-6 infringement — and the most costly 6-6-6 infringement we’ve ever seen.

Demons players were pointing fingers everywhere and the umpire was barking instructions in plain confusing and unprecedented scenes, for players needed to go into their starting positions before Rowan Marshall could take the free kick.
“Confusion reigns. We’ve never seen this in AFL footy before!,” Fox Footy caller Kelli Underwood said.
Marshall quickly chipped forward into the space Wanganen-Milera was bursting towards from the centre square inside 50. The silky speedster took a huge mark just inside 50m in scenes of absolute pandemonium from Saints fans at Marvel Stadium as the full-time siren sounded with scores level.
“Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has the game on his boot. His beautiful blue boot,” Underwood said.
Wangaan-Milera held his nerve, kicking the ball straight through the middle to seal the most epic of victories as St Kilda fans went crazy and players mobbed its match-winning star.
“Nasiah is on fire! 25 years of footy at Marvel and this one has been bloody marvellous for St Kilda! Some of the best scenes we’ve seen so far this year! Get around Nas, he’s the man, he’s covered himself in glory! And he’s worth millions after that!,” Underwood exclaimed.
Saints forward Jack Higgins told Fox Footy post-match that Wanganeen-Milera, who ended with four goals from 34 disposals, is “the best player in the world” and “the GOAT (greatest of all time).”
“I was as lucky to get on the end of it and the boys dug deep,” Wanganeen-Milera told Fox Footy.
“So proud of the boys. 46 points down, That was pretty special.”
