However, Fitzgibbon admitted it has come at an injury cost and the club’s casualty ward grew again against the Storm, with Jesse Ramien (eye) and Sam Stonestreet (ankle) both injured.
Fitzgibbon’s men played with two on the bench for an hour but still found a way to pull off the 31-26 victory.
“That was up there,” Fitzgibbon said when asked where the victory ranked in his time at the club.
“It was a great contest of they’re coming, we’re coming. I thought the intensity in the game was great.
“They certainly kept asking us questions and whether the boys got it right or wrong, they got around each other. What I love about the Sharks is we always find ways to pick each other up.”

Fitzgibbon was then asked about the club’s tough travel schedule and if it had helped or hindered the group.
“It’s been a long time (on the road). Obviously two of our travel games were home games but I can’t recall anyone having to play away from home for that long,” Fitgibbon said.

“It has its advantages because you spend a lot of time together but it also has it’s disadvantages in travel.
“But no one cares, honestly. You’ve got to turn up and play and I think we’ve done a good job of constantly turning up and we’ve been competitive in every game, so I’m really proud of that.
“The boys just don’t complain, they don’t sook, they just turn up and whatever is in front of them, they just work hard for each other and the connection we’ve built over that time has been advantageous but it’s also cost us players as well.”
