Collingwood captain Darcy Moore has revealed exclusively to Fox Footy’s AFL Tonight a fresh injury setback, which will keep him out of action for at least another fortnight.
In an interview with Fox Sports News’ Drew Jones on Thursday morning, the two-time All-Australian was relatively unfazed by the setback, and remained hopeful his return is still just around the corner.

“It’s not a major one at all; it’s more awareness than anything,” Moore said on Olympic Boulevard, just outside Collingwood headquarters.
“Clearly, coming off a pretty big training block at the end of pre-season. I don’t know what the damage is yet, but like I said, not a disaster at all.
“It wasn’t a major thing. There’s just enough awareness there to justify a scan.”

TOP-FOUR TAX SET TO BE INTRODUCED FOR DRAFT
Top-four clubs will reportedly be hit with a bid-matching tax under the AFL’s strengthened father-son and academy system, as the league prepares to confirm sweeping draft reforms.
SEN’s Sam Edmund reported on Wednesday that the changes will see sides who finish inside the top four pay an additional ‘loading fee’ as high as 30 per cent when matching bids for academy and father-son prospects.
In theory, it means that reigning premiers Brisbane would have had to give up significantly more draft capital in order to secure academy prospect Dan Annable last November.
Adding further complexity, clubs will only be permitted to use two draft picks to match a bid, removing the ability to stockpile late selections to meet the points requirement.
Heading into the 2026 AFL Draft, it will almost certainly see clubs such as Carlton and Port Adelaide facing record draft costs to secure their highly-rated prospects Cody Walker (father-son) and Dougie Cochrane (Next Generation Academy) respectively.
Edmund adds that some clubs have warned the top-four tax could have unintended consequences, including slowing trade activity during the exchange period.
