Sydney are hoping to avoid heartbreak in their AFLW finals debut as they travel to take on the Gold Coast in Saturday’s elimination final.
The Swans have proved this year’s surprise packets under new coach Scott Gowans, after finishing their first season winless.
But Sydney has flourished in 2023 and now take on a Suns outfit missing their young star Charlie Rowbottom.

Swans’ star recruit Chloe Molloy said her teammates were just keeping the plan simple, despite the high stakes.
“No one expected us to rock up to finals, to make top-eight,” she said.
“The messaging stays the same; stay humble, embrace it.
“My message is to make sure it’s an opportunity taken, not an opportunity lost.
“We’re already history makers and this is all part of the long-term success that we’re after as a club.”
The winner of the Gold Coast v Sydney clash will face Adelaide in next week’s semi final, after the Crows suffered a thrilling two-point loss to Brisbane.

Swans coach Scott Gowans said the pressure was off his side, as they had “nothing to lose” heading to the Gold Coast.
“Everything from here is a bonus for us,” he said pre-game.
