The Cowboys have confirmed they have secured a private charter flight en route to their sudden death final against the Sharks on Friday night.
With all commercial flights sold out, many of their own adoring fans beat their team to seats with a healthy number of North Queensland supporters set to descend on Allianz Stadium.
Facing the prospect of their 36-person contingent not being able to get to Sydney, the club reached out to the NRL for assistance with the governing body expected to chip in 50 per cent of costs which total around $100,000.

“We’re finalising times but we’ll be going down on a charter,” Cowboys coach Todd Payten confirmed.
“It’s worked out well.
“The club has done a good job and the players are appreciative of the NRL’s help to get us to the game on a charter and we’ll go back as well.”
The Cowboys will touch down in Sydney on Thursday a day ahead of kick-off, a timeframe they have used for every away game this season.
“We have a reasonable routine now that has helped our away record in Sydney,“ the club’s director of football Michael Luck said.
“We traditionally get to Sydney the day before a game and we’re at our hotel by around 2 o’clock, that’s as quick as we can do it on a direct flight.”
The winner of the Sharks v Cowboys clash will progress to a grand final qualifier against the Panthers.
