An official delegation led by chair Lídia Pereira (EPP, PT) and vice-chair Mohammed Chahim (S&D, NL) will be in Belém, Brazil, from 17 to 21 November to attend the UN COP30 Climate Change Conference.
The European Parliament adopted its demands ahead of this year’s global climate talks on 23 October 2025. At the COP, MEPs will meet with ministers, parliamentarians, civil society representatives, leaders of international climate organisations and other delegates.
A joint press conference with delegation chair Lídia Pereira and Climate Action Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 19 November at 10.30 BRT (14.30 CET), in the Press Conference Room 1 (Blue Zone). It can be followed live here.
The European Parliament is also co-hosting two side events at the COP30 Finnish Pavilion. On Tuesday 18 November, at 15.00 BST, MEPs together with Sari Multala, Finnish Minister for Climate, Environment and Energy, will discuss “EU climate policy beyond 2030”. On Wednesday 19 November, at 17.00 BST, the Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) will co-host the event “Ten years after the Paris Agreement: Raising the collective climate ambition as a driver for sustainable growth and a just transition”.
