Parra’s huge coup confirmed as Zac Lomax inks long-term Eels deal — Transfer Centre

The Eels have announced the signing of Dragons star Zac Lomax on a four-year deal from 2025.

Lomax requested, and was granted, an early release from his contract with the Dragons due to a desire to play in the centres or fullback after St. George coach Shane Flanagan shifted him to the wing this season.

If anything, the move has only sparked further improvement from Lomax, who is putting together a case to be selected on the flank for the Blues in 2024.

The only place to watch every game of every round LIVE with no ad-breaks during play is Fox League, available on Kayo. New to Kayo? Start your free trial today >

After weeks of speculation, the Eels confirmed the exciting news for their club in a press release on Tuesday morning.

“Zac is a great talent and we’re confident he will be an invaluable addition to our team,” Eels CEL Jim Sarantinos said via the club-issued statement.

“He complements our existing playing squad, and with almost 100 NRL games to his name since his debut in 2018, his experience will help the strong group of young players coming through our pathways system.

“We very much look forward to welcoming Zac and his family to our club in 2025, but right now, season 2024 is our focus.”

The Eels are reportedly still keen to add Lomax to their roster this season if they can swing it, however Flanagan has stated that won’t be happening.

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur did little to pour water on the reports that the Eels will try and land Lomax sooner in an interview on NRL360 last night.

“I’m not sure. I’ve left that with (GM of Football) Mark (O’Neill) and our recruitment guys to sort out,” he said.

ROOSTERS RE-SIGN ENFORCER

The Roosters have announced that promising forward Terrell May will stay in Bondi for another two years, in what is a big boost for the club.

May has had a strong start to the 2024 season, providing a terrific impact off the bench. He was one of the team’s best in the win against the Knights on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs and Dragons were also interested in landing the 24-year-old, but the Roosters always looked warm favourites to re-sign the talented prop.

“I’m really happy to have my future sorted with the Roosters,” May said via a club-issued statement.

“I love being part of the team here and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to represent the Red, White and Blue for another two years.”

Terrell and his brothers Taylan and Tyrone have expressed a strong desire to play together one day, however with Taylan signing an extension with Penrith last month, that possibility has been put on hold for now.
