Penrith fullback Dylan Edwards has been voted by his peers as the RLPA Player of the Month for March.
In a press release from the RLPA (Rugby League Players Association), Edwards was announced as the winner ahead of fellow nominees Tom Dearden, James Tedesco, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Nicho Hynes.
“The ultra consistent Edwards has been a shining light for Penrith again in 2024 as they began yet another title defence in March, scoring two tries, setting up another two, and averaging over 250 running metres per game,” the press release read.

The RLPA Player of the Month award was born in May of last year, with Rabbitohs star Cody Walker winning the first edition.
Cowboys fullback Scott Drinkwater (June), Shaun Johnson (July) and Kalyn Ponga (August) won the awards in the subsequent months of the 2023 NRL season, but this year will be the first full year of monthly awards.
HOW DOES THE VOTING FOR RLPA PLAYER OF THE MONTH WORK?
“There is a nominations panel which consists of James Graham, Justin Horo and Dene Halatau and they do a 3/2/1 for that month,” RLPA Media and Communications manager Joey Ratcliffe told foxsports.com.au.
“The top four players (including ties) from that vote are the nominations for the month, and they are then sent to all of the contracted NRL players.
“These awards leads into our Players’ Champion award at the end of the year as well.”
It’s not a requirement that all players cast their vote, but it is open to all NRL players.
Other RLPA awards for each season include The Players’ Champion (NRL & NRLW), The Players’ Rookie of the Year (NRL & NRLW), The Players’ Dream Team (NRL & NRLW) and The Dennis Tutty Award (NRL & NRLW).
