PIES COMING HARD AT PERRYMAN, INCREASE OFFER TO RICHARDS
Collingwood is “having a big crack” at Giants free agent Harry Perryman with the sell of more midfield time, while the Magpies have improved their offer to Joe Richards.
Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph reported the latest happenings at the 2023 premiers as they look to bounce back from their finals miss.
Perryman, 25, is also being pursued by Port Adelaide.
“Collingwood is having a big crack at Harry Perryman I think they’ve probably increase their offer in recent weeks,” Ralph told Fox Footy’s On the Couch.
“Very, very keen for help for Nick Daicos. The one thing they can offer is midfield time.
“If he stays at GWS or goes to Port Adelaide, they’ve got elite midfielders and can’t give him midfield time.”

Collingwood has meanwhile “upped their offer” to Richards from a two-year deal to a three-year as he weighs up interest from Port Adelaide, while several other Magpies face uncertain futures.
“He’s thinking about that,” Ralph said of Collingwood’s improved offer.
“All of Nathan Kreuger, Charlie Dean and Reef McInnes on hold for list spots, they’ve all played reasonable amounts of games this year.
“But this draft is so good, there’s going to be 10 to 12 players you think are AFL ready, they’ll be on the scrap heap.”
RIVALS CIRCLING DE KONING … BUT TOLD NO TRADE
Rival clubs targeting Geelong tall Sam De Koning have been told he’ll see out his contract in 2025.
De Koning, one of the Cats’ most exciting young players of recent years and a 2022 premiership player, fell out favour late in the season including not playing in the club’s deep finals run.
And while other sides have been looking to lure the 23-year old out of the Cattery, he’s reportedly staying put, for now at least.

“He absolutely is a target, clubs sniff the weaknesses out there,” Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph said of De Koning on Fox Footy’s On the Couch.
“But the clubs that have asked about him have been told in no uncertain terms, he will fulfil his contract until the end of next year, I don’t think he’ll extend anytime soon.
“He was really upset to miss the preliminary final, of course. It’s going to be challenging or him to get hit spot back, but the Cats have 12 months to placate him.
Ralph added: “Patrick Dangerfield, Cam Guthrie, Mitch Duncan and RhysStanley will all play on.”
DERKSEN REQUESTS TRADE TO DEES
Giants young tall Wade Derksen has requested a trade to Melbourne.
AFL Media’s Callum Twomey revealed Derksen’s bid to join the Demons as his preferred new home, which comes a week after the 23-year old told GWS of his desire to be moved.
Derksen, who’s contracted at the Giants for 2024, is yet to play an AFL game after joining the club via the 2022 mid-season draft.
He booted 35 goals from 18 VFL games last year before being moved into defence in 2024.
Melbourne, who owns picks 5, 38, 45, 50 and 61, has also been linked to a move to three-club ruckman Tom Campbell to play as Max Gawn’s deputy.
