“Congratulations to Jahrome Hughes from the Melbourne Storm and Olivia Kernick form the Sydney Roosters, your 2024 Dally M Medal winners,” Yvonne Sampson said.

“We will get you into the centre of the stage for our final shot and that concludes our 2024 Dally M Medal…”
Sampson was interjected by Storm teammates Will Warbrick and Eliesa Katoa and Kiwis teammate and Raiders star Joe Tapine starting an impromptu and rousing Haka in front of the stage.
Hughes looked visibly moved as his Grand Final teammates and New Zealand countrymen honoured him with the traditional Maori war dance.
The Haka sent chills through the packed Winx Room at Randwick Racecourse as Hughes and NRLW Dally M Medal winner Olivia Kernick were honoured with their peers in the Dally M Teams of the Year.
