Roosters star recruit Dom Young has been hospitalised and ruled out of England’s series against Tonga after a sinus infection spread to his brain.
Young, who this year broke the Knights’ single-season try-scoring record, was struggling with headaches before the plane trip to England for the Test series exacerbated things.
The 22-year-old has spent the past week in hospital but he’s expected to make a full recovery in time for the Roosters’ season opener in Las Vegas next March.

Young’s agent Michael Cincotta has confirmed to multiple media outlets the severity of his client’s condition, but emphasised the winger is now on the mend.
“Dom is going really well, he’s feeling a lot better and will be ready to go for the Roosters,” Cincotta told Fox Sports.
He told WWOS: “It was pretty frightening because he was getting severe headaches and got so bad that he couldn’t stand any sort of bright light.
“It pushed his condition over the edge and he wasn’t good.
“They put him in hospital and traced it back to a sinus infection that spread throughout his head.
“But he is past the worst of it now thanks to antibiotics and the good care he is getting in hospital.
“He is not 100 per cent over it yet – it was pretty severe – but he is on the mend and after a bit of a break he will be right to rejoin the Roosters.

“But it is a blow as he was really looking forward to playing for England against Tonga – he will have to wait for his next chance now.”
England coach Shaun Wane was asked about Young’s absence ahead of their series opener against Tonga last weekend, which the hosts won 22-18 in St Helens.
“He’s in hospital with an illness (and) will be assessed next week,” Wane told NRL.com.
