The Brisbane Broncos have been labelled a “fractured club” following their spectacular season-ending loss to the Dolphins and amid captain Adam Reynolds’ appearance on Triple M radio.
Last week, hooker Billy Walters sensationally quit his regular guest spot on breakfast radio on Brisbane’s Triple M, due to the station’s criticism of the Broncos and his dad and coach Kevin Walters.
Since, Reynolds has appeared in Walters’ place, with The Daily Telegraph’s Phil Rothfield saying it’s a “disappointing” decision by the Broncos captain.

“For our viewers who aren’t aware of the situation, Billy Walters quit his breakfast how gig on Triple M Brisbane because he was over the criticism of his father,” Rothfield explained.
“They had been bagging the Broncos and Kevvie a lot. What I didn’t like is that Adam Reynolds jumped straight in and took Billy’s job.
“In situations like this, it is team first. There’s a pretty serious feud going on there where a bloke has pulled the pin.
“I know Reynolds has a contract at Triple M, not to do that breakfast show though and I’m really disappointed in him that he didn’t stand up for Kev and Billy and say sorry, I’m not doing it.”
Rothfield’s comments come after NRL360 co-host Gorden Tallis slammed Reynolds for not sticking up for his coach.
“I put pressure on Adam Reynolds,” Tallis told Triple M’s Sunday Sin Bin program.
“Kevvie came out and stood up for him (Reynolds). Now Kevvie has been under the pump and silence (from Reynolds) … crickets.
“It was just a test (of whether Reynolds had Walters’ back).
“Billy Walters said no to coming on this station and his captain (Reynolds) jumps straight in.”

Reynolds responded to Tallis’ comments on Monday, stressing Walters has his full support.
NRL360’s Braith Anasta asked for some clarity on the situation, wondering whether there was an obligation by the Broncos to have one of their players appear on radio.
“Do we know the circumstances behind this? Was it a Broncos media member asking him to go on the show? Are there certain requirements to be on Triple M? Or is it just a case that he took the job,” Anasta said.
The Australian’s Brent Read said he thought Reynolds was asked by the club to continue the radio obligations, but Rothfield said that regardless, the Broncos halfback should have declined it.
“A great captain with the season on the line would’ve said to Triple M, I back Billy. I back Kevvie. I’m sorry but I’m not taking it,” he said.
“He had to be (aware of Billy Walters quitting Triple M). It was all over the media.
“You hear stories about them being a fractured club … There was no excuse for Saturday.”
