Matt Renshaw pushed his case to replace David Warner in the Australian Test side with a stellar century to put Queensland in a strong position against Victoria in the Sheffield Shield.
Renshaw helped the Bulls power to 4-297 at stumps, eventually dismissed for 135 off 262 balls, after the Vics managed just 253.
However it could have been much worse for the visitors who were 4-41 on day one before a Matt Short century kept them in the match.

Seven fours and three sixes saw Renshaw combine with Bryce Street (56) and Joe Burns (31) to put the hosts well on top.
Renshaw returned to the Test side for the tour of India early this year but managed just scores of 2, 2 and 0 in the middle order, putting his average across 14 Tests at 29.3.
He’s hopeful of getting the gig once Warner retires from Test cricket after the third Test against Pakitan this January, with the other leading contenders including Cameron Bancroft and Marcus Harris.

At the WACA Ground, ‘Wild Thing’ Lance Morris struck with his very first ball back at Shield level, earning the wicket of Tasmania’s Caleb Jewell.
However just before stumps the Tasmanians had recovered to sit 5-262, with Jordan Silk (91* off 225) and Matthew Wade (a speedy 51) the notables.
Morris added the wicket of Beau Webster (64) and had conceded 45 runs off his 16 overs with five maidens.
He had to reconstruct his bowling action over the winter after a back stress injury.
In Adelaide, the Redbacks sat 8-262 at stumps with all members of their top seven reaching double figures but only Nathan McSweeney (64) cracking the half-century mark.
