The English half was charged with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle offence for his tackle on Dragon Sione Finau in the 28th minute of Saturday’s clash in Mudgee.
It left Dodd sin binned for the first 10 minutes of the second half after Finau failed an HIA.
Dodd is now set to miss his side’s Round 1 clash against the Dolphins that would’ve been his first NRL game. It puts Jamie Humphreys in the mix to don the No. 7 jersey for South Sydney.
Meanwhile, Josh Curran was also given a one-match ban for his dangerous tackle on Bronco Jack Gosiewski that saw the Bulldogs forward sin binned for in the final minutes of Saturday’s game in Redcliffe.
Curran was also handed a Grade 2 Careless High tackle offence.
If Dodd or Curran unsuccessfully challenge their charges, they’d receive a two-match ban.
