Rugby Australia is investigating a brawl between two NSW Waratahs players, where it is alleged a new recruit sustained a facial injury.
As first reported by CODE Sports, prop Miles Amatosero and loose forward Angus Scott-Young allegedly exchanged blows during a training session last week. According to the News Corp report, Scott-Young may have suffered a facial fracture after Amatosero punched him, but the extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed.
It is unknown what caused the alleged scuffle.

A statement provided to foxsports.com.au read: “The NSW Waratahs and Rugby Australia are aware of an incident that occurred recently during a Waratahs pre-season training session and are reviewing the matter.”
Scott-Young, who previously made 69 Super Rugby appearances for the Queensland Reds, signed for Waratahs in November on a two-year deal having parted ways with Northampton Saints in the United Kingdom.
“I’m really excited to be back in Australia and playing Super Rugby again,” the 28-year-old, son of former Wallaby Sam Scott-Young, said in a statement at the time.
“It’s such a fast, dynamic competition, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent the Waratahs. The club has a proud history and passionate supporters, so I’m looking forward to contributing and being part of something special.
“There’s a lot to be excited about with this group at the Waratahs. The squad is full of talented players with huge potential and the coaching set-up under Dan McKellar and Lachlan McCaffrey is world-class.
“The 2014 Waratahs were a team that galvanised rugby across Australia and that legacy has always inspired me. I’d love to help this group emulate that success, especially as we head towards a home Rugby World Cup in 2027. Ultimately, I want to contribute as much as I can to the club, help drive standards, and put myself in the best position to earn a place in the Wallabies set-up.”
The Waratahs get their Super Rugby season underway on February 13, facing the Reds at Allianz Stadium.
