Islam Makhachev has declared he will show why he is “the best fighter in the world” when he takes on Arman Tsarukyan in UFC 311.

Undisputed lightweight champion Makhachev, whose only career loss came in 2015, will look to extend his record to 27-1 against Tsarukyan (22-3) on Sunday afternoon AEDT
It was a chaotic press conference on Friday as all 10 fighters on the card traded barbs in front of a bumper crowd in California.
“I am going to show you guys I am the best fighter in the world. I have to show who I am this Saturday night and I will show Tsarukyan,” Makhachev said.
Czech star Jiri Prochazka (30-5-1), who will fight Jamahal Hill (12-2), is flying a fan fighting cancer out to the fight and has shaved his hair off in solidarity with her.
Prochazka is also donating $50,000 USD to a cancer charity and UFC president Dana White declared on stage he would match it.
“My hair was inspired by Ashley, she is fighting cancer. She will come tomorrow and this is me showing solidarity because it’s about sending good energy,” Prochazka said.
“Martial arts is all about giving back and (creating) good energy.”

Knockout artist and former champion Hill remains one of the most polarising fighters in the UFC and was booed by the crowd.
“They know who I am, they know exactly who I am,” Hill said when asked about the crowd.
Brazilian Renato Moicano (20-5-1) will face American Beneil Dariush (22-6-1) and said he cannot afford to lose the fight, financially.
“I cannot afford to lose, I respect Beneil Dariush, he’s well rounded, but guess what – I’m winning, I cannot afford to lose,”

Moicano also took a shot at California governor Gavin Newsom for his handling of the state’s devastating bushfires.
“To the first responders and fire fighters in California, you deserve better than Gavin Newsom,” he said.
