Mitchell Moses is set for an “indefinite” stint on the sidelines due to a foot injury after he was a shock omission from the Eels’ team list on Tuesday afternoon.

And while Jason Ryles will sorely miss his superstar halfback, his injury serves as a huge opportunity for teammate Dylan Brown in the midst of a contract saga.
Brown has been the subject of a mammoth $13 million offer to join the Knights, with a get out clause in his current contract allowing him to depart the Eels for 2026.
He has until Round 10 of this season to opt out of his Parramatta deal, and now Brown gets a chance to shine in a new-look side without his star halves partner.
“There’s an opportunity for Dylan Brown too, given the noise around him all summer. He has to go out there and show he is the man,” Paul Crawley said on NRL360 on Tuesday night.
That stint with Moses could be a lengthy one, with no set time frame for his return in place according to The Daily Telegraph’s Dean Ritchie.
“It snuck up on you, I don’t think anyone was talking about an injury to Mitch Moses so it was a bit of a surprise,” Ritchie said.
“I text Parramatta this afternoon and they weren’t overly acknowledgeable about when he would return, it is indefinite at the moment.
“I’m surprised they didn’t know, if it’s a week they normally say it’s a week. When they say ‘we don’t know the return date’, then you wonder if it’s a little more serious.”

Ryles, meanwhile, has rolled out five club debutants, which includes an NRL debutant in utility Ryley Smith, who signed a development contract in the week leading into Round 1.
Zac Lomax, Jack Williams, Ronald Volkman and Isaiah Iongi are the remaining four, who have previously played for the Dragons, Sharks, Warriors and Panthers.
However, without Moses, NRL360 host Braith Anasta wasn’t excited about their chances against the Storm on Sunday afternoon.
“Mitchell Moses out for Parramatta, it’s the new era, new coach Jason Ryles. They weren’t particularly impressive in the trials,” he said.
“Moses is their best player and he’s a massive loss.”
