THURSDAY MAY 8

Parramatta Eels vs Dolphins at CommBank Stadium, 7.50pm AEST

Last week’s Eels team: 1. Isaiah Iongi 2. Bailey Simonsson 3. Viliami Penisini 4. Sean Russell 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Dylan Brown 7. Mitchell Moses 8. Jack Williams 9. Ryley Smith 10. Junior Paulo 11. Charlie Guymer 12. Kitione Kautoga 13. J’maine Hopgood 14. Dylan Walker 15. Luca Moretti 17. Sam Tuivaiti 22. Jordan Samrani. 18th man: 19. Joash Papali’i

Team Tips: The Eels got through their clash against the Sharks largely unscathed, with Dan Keir two weeks away from returning from a thigh strain. Zac Lomax, meanwhile, is expected to return in Round 12 having returned to running on the field prior to Magic Round.

Last week’s Dolphins team: 1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 2. Jamayne Isaako 3. Jake Averillo 4. Herbie Farnworth 5. Jack Bostock 6. Kodi Nikorima 7. Isaiya Katoa 13. Mark Nicholls 9. Jeremy Marshall-King 10. Francis Molo 11. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki 16. Connelly Lemuelu 12. Tom Gilbert 15. Ray Stone 17. Josh Kerr 19. Sean O’Sullivan 20. Oryn Keeley. 18th man: 21. Harrison Graham

Team Tips: The Dolphins are hoping to welcome back a host of troops in Round 10, with Kurt Donoghoe (ankle), Felise Kaufusi (knee) and Daniel Saifiti (shoulder) all a chance of returning. Oryn Keeley, Josh Kerr and Sean O’Sullivan will be the likely men to make way, with Francis Molo and Mark Nicholls shifting to the pine to accommodate the pair of front rowers who have been strong to start the 2025 season. Gun forward Max Plath remains at least three weeks away from returning after going under the knife on a foot injury.

FRIDAY MAY 9

Newcastle Knights vs Gold Coast Titans at McDonald Jones Stadium, 6:00pm AEST

Last week’s Knights team: 1. Kalyn Ponga 2. James Schiller 3. Dane Gagai 4. Bradman Best 5. Greg Marzhew 6. Fletcher Sharpe 7. Jack Cogger 8. Jacob Saifiti 9. Phoenix Crossland 10. Leo Thompson 11. Dylan Lucas 12. Kai Pearce-Paul 13. Tyson Frizell 14. Jayden Brailey 15. Mathew Croker 16. Adam Elliott 17. Brodie Jones. 18th Man:18. Thomas Cant

Team Tips: The Knights got their season back on track with a win over the Rabbitohs at Magic Round and it looks unlikely Adam O’Brien will make any changes to his side’s winning formula. Jack Hetherington remains sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Last week’s Titans team: 1. Jaylan De Groot 2. Alofiana Khan-Pereira 3. Brian Kelly 4. Phillip Sami 18. Tony Francis 6. AJ Brimson 7. Tom Weaver 8. Moeaki Fotuaika 9. Sam Verrills 10. Reagan Campbell-Gillard 14. Klese Haas 12. Beau Fermor 13. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui 11. Chris Randall 15. Iszac Fa’asumaleaui 16. Arama Hau 17. Josiah Pahulu 21. Tukimihia Simpkins

Team Tips: Des Hasler revealed that both Jayden Campbell and Kieran Foran were a chance of returning in Round 10 in what could be a huge boost for the struggling Titans. Should Campbell be deemed fit after being sidelined due to an ankle injury, he will slot straight into the No.7 jersey which would mean veteran Foran will be deployed as a utility off the pine for his first game of the season. Without Campbell, Foran would be a straight swap into the halfback role while a big spine switch could be on the cards if all three players are fit. In an attempt to inspire his side’s lacklustre attack, Hasler could switch AJ Brimson to his natural fullback position, with Foran and Campbell partnering in the halves. Jojo Fifita is also likely to slot back in on the wing in place of Tony Francis after succumbing to a minor arm infection, while Jaimin Jolliffe returns from suspension and will replace either Arama Hau or Josiah Pahulu on the pine.

Storm FG chalked OFF in crucial moment | 00:58

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Brisbane Broncos at Accor Stadium, 8.00pm AEST

Last week’s Rabbitohs team: 1. Jye Gray 2. Bayleigh Bentley-Hape 3. Euan Aitken 4. Campbell Graham 5. Isaiah Tass 19. Lewis Dodd 7. Jayden Sullivan 8. Sean Keppie 9. Peter Mamouzelos 10. Tevita Tatola 11. Keaon Koloamatangi 12. Tallis Duncan 13. Jai Arrow 14. Liam Le Blanc 15. Lachlan Hubner 16. Davvy Moale 17. Fletcher Myers. 18th Man:18. Thomas Fletcher

Team Tips: The Rabbitohs are in the midst of an injurt crisis, which only worsened in their loss at the hands of the Knights. Peter Mamouzelos suffered a dislocated elbow and is set for a stint on the sidelines, while Jye Gray suffered a cork to his leg which saw him attempt to continue before being forced to leave the field. Souths are set to be without both of those stars with Latrell Mitchell returning from suspension at fullback. Who will slot into the hooker role remains unclear, with Siliva Havili sidelined due to injury in Round 10. Bennett may be forced to call on NSW Cup hooker Ryan Gray, while he will also be desperate for Jamie Humphreys to be fit to take the field after Jayden Sullivan and Lewis Dodd failed to inspire the Rabbitohs to a win as a halves pairing. Cody Walker and Jack Wighton are both scheduled to return in Round 13.

Last week’s Broncos team: 1. Selwyn Cobbo 2. Deine Mariner 3. Kotoni Staggs 4. Gehamat Shibasaki 5. Jesse Arthars 6. Ben Hunt 7. Adam Reynolds 8. Patrick Carrigan 9. Billy Walters 10. Payne Haas 11. Xavier Willison 16. Brendan Piakura 13. Kobe Hetherington 12. Jordan Riki 14. Cory Paix 15. Corey Jensen 17. Jaiyden Hunt 18th Man: 18. Tyson Smoothy

Team Tips: There’s one big question lingering over this Broncos side — will Michael Maguire pick Ezra Mam? The five-eighth’s suspension has run out, with Ben Hunt doing an impressive job in the No.6 jersey so far this season. When he was signed in pre-season, the Broncos’ plan was to switch Hunt to hooker and that move could be on the cards. “Yeah he’ll be ready to play, if he’s called upon,” Maguire said. “He’s worked really hard in the background and I guess until you’re actually playing games you can’t qualify in that but he’s done everything he possibly can to give himself the opportunity to come into selection. “I talk to my leaders all the time about how the team looks and what we’re doing and moving towards.” Hunt’s shift to hooker could see Cory Paix lose his position on the bench after Billy Walters started in the No.9, while he also provides more utility value being able to play in the halves. Reece Walsh and Jack Gosiewski remain at least three more games away from returning to the field.

SATURDAY MAY 10

Canberra Raiders vs Canterbury Bulldogs at GIO Stadium, 3.00pm AEST

Last week’s Raiders team: 1. Kaeo Weekes 2. Savelio Tamale 3. Matthew Timoko 4. Sebastian Kris 5. Xavier Savage 6. Ethan Strange 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Corey Horsburgh 9. Tom Starling 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Hudson Young 12. Matt Nicholson 13. Morgan Smithies 14. Owen Pattie 15. Zac Hosking 16. Josh Papali’i 17. Ata Mariota 18. Simi Sasagi

Team Tips: Centre Seb Kris avoided a ban after he was placed on report for dangerous contact for Nick Meaney. Otherwise no changes are expected for the Raiders who continue to deliver and will be preparing for a top of the table clash with the Bulldogs in Round 10.

Last week’s Bulldogs team: 1. Connor Tracey 2. Jacob Kiraz 3. Bronson Xerri 4. Stephen Crichton 5. Marcelo Montoya 6. Bailey Hayward 7. Toby Sexton 8. Max King 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Daniel Suluka-Fifita 11. Viliame Kikau 12. Jacob Preston 13. Jaeman Salmon 14. Kurt Mann 15. Harry Hayes 16. Kurtis Morrin 17. Blake Taaffe 19. Lipoi Hopoi

Team Tips: A huge blow for the Bulldogs with Jacob Preston being handed a three-game ban for a crusher tackle late in his side’s win over the Titans. According to Code Sports, the Bulldogs are going to contest that charge Sitili Tupouniua and Josh Curran remain sidelined due to their respective suspensions, with Jaeman Salmon the likely man to move into the back row and Bailey Hayward shift to lock. He will once again give back the No.6 jersey to Matt Burton after he served his one-match ban during Magic Round.

St George Illawarra Dragons vs New Zealand Warriors at WIN Stadium, 5:30pm AEST

Last week’s Dragons team: 1. Clinton Gutherson 2. Tyrell Sloan 3. Moses Suli 4. Valentine Holmes 5. Corey Allan 6. Kyle Flanagan 7. Lyhkan King-Togia 8. Toby Couchman 9. Damien Cook 10. David Klemmer 11. Dylan Egan 12. Jaydn Su’A 13. Hamish Stewart 14. Jacob Liddle 15. Jack de Belin 16. Emre Guler 17. Luciano Leilua. 18th man: 19. Nathan Lawson

Team Tips: The Dragons went down to the Tigers at Magic Round and Lachlan Ilias’ halves replacement was solid in his first NRL game of the season. Kyle Flanagan, meanwhile, could be in the firing line after Ilias scored a double and masterminded a huge 60-26 win over the Western Suburbs Magpies in reserve grade. Emre Guler, meanwhile, suffered a dislocated shoulder and is set for a stint on the sidelines with Blake Lawrie and Hame Sele a chance of coming into the first grade side, with Loko Pasifika Tonga not featuring in NSW Cup over the weekend.

Last week’s Warriors team: 1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Taine Tuaupiki 3. Rocco Berry 5. Adam Pompey 23. Edward Kosi 6. Chanel Harris-Tavita 7. Luke Metcalf 8. Marata Niukore 9. Wayde Egan 10. Mitchell Barnett 11. Kurt Capewell 12. Leka Halasima 13. Erin Clark 15. Jackson Ford 16. Demitric Vaimauga 17. Bunty Afoa 20. Samuel Healey. 18th man: 14. Te Maire Martin

Team Tips: A host of injury concerns for the Warriors after Magic Round. Edward Kosi played through a shoulder injury while Rocco Berry suffered a hamstring injury, which looks set to keep him on the sidelines once again. Ali Leiataua was also omitted from the side before kick-off after suffering a training ankle injury on Thursday. It remains to be seen if he will be fit, however the Warriors could need two players to return to fill their backline. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is likely to return from a wrist injury which has kept him sidelined since pre-season. Jacob Laban is also due to return from a head knock, which could see Sam Healey drop off the pine despite a strong NRL debut.

North Queensland Cowboys vs Penrith Panthers at Queensland Coutnry Bank Stadium, 7:35pm AEST

Last week’s Cowboys team: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Robert Derby 3. Jaxon Purdue 4. Viliami Vailea 5. Murray Taulagi 6. Tom Dearden 7. Jake Clifford 8. Jordan McLean 9. Reece Robson 10. Jason Taumalolo 11. John Bateman 12. Jeremiah Nanai 13. Reuben Cotter 14. Sam McIntyre 15. Harrison Edwards 16. Griffin Neame 17. Coen Hess. 18th man: 18. Zac Laybutt

Team Tips: The Cowboys got through their Magic Round clash without any injuries and it looks unlikely Todd Payten will make any changes. Braidon Burns scored one try in the Northern Pride’s big win over the Ipswich Jets and could be gunning for a spot in the North Queensland backline.

Last week’s Panthers team: 1. Dylan Edwards 2. Paul Alamoti 3. Izack Tago 4. Luke Garner 5. Thomas Jenkins 6. Blaize Talagi 7. Nathan Cleary 8. Moses Leota 14. Trent Toelau 16. Lindsay Smith 15. Isaiah Papali’i 12. Liam Martin 13. Isaah Yeo 9. Luke Sommerton 10. Liam Henry 17. Mavrik Geyer 19. Luron Patea 18th Man: 20. Casey McLean

Team Tips: Two big-name stars are due to return in Round 10 for the Panthers. The first is Mitch Kenny, who has served a two-game ban and will slot back in at hooker, with Trent Toelau set to remain as the utility on the bench after a solid performance against the Broncos. Luke Sommerton will be the man to make way, while Luke Garner could also shift to the bench, displacing Mavrik Geyer with Brian To’o set to return from a hamstring injury on the wing. Tom Jenkins was one of Penrith’s best against the Broncos and is deserving of retaining his spot, but will likely shift to centre inside the Origin star. Brad Schneider is due to return from an eye blow, but won’t force his way into the equation after Toelau’s performance.

SUNDAY MAY 11

Melbourne Storm vs Wests Tigers at AAMI Park, 2:00pm AEST

Last week’s Storm team: 1. Ryan Papenhuyzen 2. Sualauvi Faalogo 3. Grant Anderson 4. Nick Meaney 5. Xavier Coates 6. Cameron Munster 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Bronson Garlick 10. Josh King 11. Shawn Blore 12. Eliesa Katoa 13. Trent Loiero 14. Tyran Wishart 15. Alec MacDonald 16. Tui Kamikamica 17. Joe Chan 18. Ativalu Lisati

Team Tips: The Storm lost in a golden point thriller against the Raiders and Craig Bellamy was scathing of his team’s lack of discipline in the loss. However, it’s unlikely Trent Loiero, who was the man to give away two crucial penalties, loses his spot in the forward pack. Nelson Asofa-Solomona scored a pair of tries in Queensland Cup and could slot back in on the pine in place of Joe Chan. Meanwhile, it remains unclear how for away Will Warbrick is from returning from a concussion and Harry Grant is set to slot back in to the hooker position, with Bronson Garlick out of the side altogether.

Last week’s Tigers team: 1. Jahream Bula 2. Sunia Turuva 3. Adam Doueihi 5. Brent Naden 23. Charlie Staines 6. Lachlan Galvin 7. Jarome Luai 8. Terrell May 9. Apisai Koroisau 10. Fonua Pole 11. Samuela Fainu 12. Alex Seyfarth 13. Alex Twal 14. Tallyn Da Silva 15. Royce Hunt 16. Jack Bird 17. Sione Fainu. 18th man: 18. Tony Sukkar

Team Tips: Brent Naden suffered a knee injury against the Dragons, with Starford To’a sidelined due to a neck injury. The severity of that injury remains unclear, while the Tigers are also hanging out for Jeral Skelton to return, having been sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Should either of those be fit to take the field, they will take the vacant spot in the backline.

Kiraz hat-trick inspires Bulldogs win | 01:01

Manly Sea Eagles vs Cronulla Sharks at 4 Pines Park, 4:05pm

Round 8 Sea Eagles team: 1. Tom Trbojevic 14. Tommy Talau 3. Tolutau Koula 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Lehi Hopoate 6. Luke Brooks 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 16. Ethan Bullemor 9. Jake Simpkin 10. Siosiua Taukeiaho 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Ben Trbojevic 13. Jazz Tevaga 15. Corey Waddell 17. Nathan Brown 18. Gordon Chan Kum Tong 22. Caleb Navale. 18th man: 21. Michael Chee Kam

Team Tips: The Sea Eagles enjoyed a week off with the bye in Magic Round, with Jake Trbojevic set to return from a head knock. Jason Saab was ruled out prior to Round 8 due to a reoccurence of his syndesmosis injury, however he could be set to return to this side in a return that would see Tommy Talau drop out of the backline. He was previously named at No.14 and could slot back into the utility role in Round 10. Jazz Tevaga, meanwhile, will revert to the pine with Gordon Chan Kum Tong a chance of dropping off the bench.

Last week’s Sharks team: 1. William Kennedy 2. Samuel Stonestreet 3. Jesse Ramien 4. KL Iro 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo 6. Braydon Trindall 7. Nicho Hynes 8. Addin Fonua-Blake 9. Blayke Brailey 17. Thomas Hazelton 11. Briton Nikora 12. Billy Burns 13. Cameron McInnes 10. Oregon Kaufusi 15. Siosifa Talakai 16. Braden Hamlin-Uele 20. Jesse Colquhoun 18th man: 14. Daniel Atkinson

Team Tips: Siosifa Talakai is set to sit out for a week after suffering an ugly head knock against the Eels. Craig Fitzgibbon indicated he would be welcoming players back into his side in Round 10, with Teig Wilton the likely man to return to the pack after being sidelined due to a shoulder injury. He will slot into the back row, with Billy Burns a chance of keeping his spot on the pine.
