Two of Fox Footy’s biggest stars, as well as the channel’s flagship program, have been recognised at the annual Australian Football Media Association Awards.
The induction of Fox Footy host Sarah Jones as an AFMA Life Member for her 20-plus years of work covering the AFL for the channel was one of the highlights of Tuesday night’s event at Marvel Stadium.
Jones was introduced to those in attendance by four-time premiership Hawk and long-time on-screen partner Jason Dunstall, who reflected on Jones’ diligence and professionalism across her two decades at Fox Sports.

Jones then delivered a beautiful speech that included a tribute to her father, who’d made the trip down from Echuca for the event.
Star Fox Footy play-by-play commentator Anthony Hudson was again named Best TV Match Caller.
All entrants were judged on colour and flair, accuracy, use of the language and an innate ability to marry the words with the pictures, with Hudson beating out a competitive field.
And in its 14th season, AFL 360 took out another Best TV Program award.
AFL 360, hosted by Gerard Whateley and Mark Robinson, claimed the gong after another stellar year, highlighted by powerful interviews with Melbourne superstar Christian Petracca and Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge.
Best TV Program entrants were judged on football insight, discussion depth, entertainment, analytical quality and relevance.
Whateley also took out the Best Radio Match Caller award for his work with SEN across the season, while Herald Sun chief football writer Robinson was highly commended in the Best Opinion and Analysis category.
Herald Sun reporter Jay Clark, who hosts the Midweek Tackle, won the award for Best Feature Reporting in print and online, with fellow Herald Sun and Fox Footy colleague Glenn McFarlane highly commended in the same category.
Midweek Tackle host, Fox Footy boundary rider and Herald Sun journalist Lauren Wood took out the Best AFLW Program or Feature category, while AFL Tonight contributor Eliza Reilly won best AFLW reporter for her work on CODE Sports.
The late Sam Landsberger was highly commended for his news and features on both Fox Footy and the Herald Sun.
The preliminary finals get underway from 6.50pm (AEST) on Friday on Fox Footy — available on Foxtel and Kayo Sports — when Sydney hosts Port Adelaide, followed by the Geelong-Brisbane clash on Saturday.
