That is according to Code Sports, who are reporting Pezet and Anasta have been negotiating a new deal for the 21-year-old, becoming a free agent on November 1.
However, Newcastle bosses and captain Kalyn Ponga reportedly took the halfback out for a dinner, hoping to lure him back to the Hunter region.
Pezet has previously played in the Knights junior representative teams, having played Harold Matthews and SG Ball for Newcastle between 2018 and 2020.
The Knights have reportedly tabled a deal worth around $2.5 million across four seasons, hoping to secure one of the NRL’s next crop of rising playmakers.
Pezet has only played 10 first grade games to date, and his 2024 campaign was ended prematurely after he suffered a ruptured ACL.
Pezet, Anasta and the Storm will reportedly sit down for a crunch meeting in the coming weeks, with the future of Jahrome Hughes a topic of contention.

The Kiwi international is currently signed until the end of the 2026 season, and Pezet reportedly wants to be able to leave the Storm if the No.7 signs a new contract.
Interestingly, Hughes’ current deal aligns with a new franchise potentially joining the NRL in 2027 and he could command north of $1 million on the open market.
