Brisbane Heat opener Grace Harris has sent a timely reminder to national selectors, smacking the highest individual score in Women’s Big Bash League history against the Perth Scorchers at North Sydney Oval on Sunday.
The 30-year-old, who was sidelined for the recent T20I series against the West Indies, blasted an unbeaten 136 (59) at the picturesque venue on Sunday afternoon, steering the Heat towards an imposing total of 7-229.
It was the second-highest team score in WBBL history.

Harris cracked 12 boundaries and 11 sixes, another WBBL record, only needing 48 deliveries to reach triple figures.
It was her third WBBL century, becoming just the third cricketer to achieve the feat, joining Sydney Sixers wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy and Perth Scorchers captain Sophie Devine.
During the 14th over, Harris’ bat split in half while crunching a six over mid-wicket, snapping off at the handle. However, she had no problems with the new willow, hitting the following delivery over the boundary rope as well.
She had warned her team she needed a new bat but quipped just before the hit “stuff it, I’ll still hit it”.
The Scorchers are chasing 230 for an unlikely victory.
