Sydney Sixers all-rounder Erin Burns has taken a spectacular flying catch in the outfield in Thursday’s WBBL clash with the Perth Scorchers.
It was one way traffic in the first innings as opener Beth Mooney once again starred with the bat for the Scorchers, topscoring with 91 not out.

Perth posted a total of 6/189 off their 20 overs but they could have reached 200 had it not been for Burns’ heroics in the field.
The Scorchers were flying along when Amy Jones lofted a delivery from Ellyse Perry towards the boundary rope on the off side.
Burns perfectly judged the catch, running forward before diving low to claim the acrobatic grab.
She also managed to avoid colliding with Sixers teammate Maitlan Brown who was tracking the ball and looked astonished at Burns’ efforts.
Mel Jones said in commentary: “Erin Burns just stop it. Year after year you just keep pulling these out of the bag.
“Maitlan Brown can’t believe it. Sixers can’t believe it. We can’t believe it but we really should because that is just Erin Burns at her very best.
Former Australian cricketer Julia Price said: “Superwoman. I think she’s just about dived into Maitlan Brown, she didn’t see her coming.
“Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s Erin Burns. That was outstanding.”
“This was magnificent. Erin Burns just comes out of nowhere. That’s a game changer, those sorts of catches.”
The Sixers sit fifth on the ladder heading into the pointy end of the season and must win some of their remaining four games against the teams above them on the table to have a chance of making the WBBL finals.
