Aussie all-rounder Sean Abbott creamed a six well over the ropes and into the face of an unlucky spectator in the SCG Members’ Stand on Sunday.
The man stood with his hands up ready to take the crowd catch, as his friends watched on, preparing to celebrate wildly, but it all went horribly wrong.
The ball went straight through his hands and caught him flush on the face, smashing his sunglasses and drawing blood from his cheek.

Spectators around the man were left with stunned and horrified looks on their faces as the woman next to him immediately offered aid.
“That’s big, that’s very big, it’s into the members. Sean Abbott, the strength of the man. Has it taken a head? I think it might have,” Kerry O’Keeffe said on Fox Cricket.
“I think someone has taken one, you’ve got to keep a look out when the white ball is flying around at the SCG, that’s a powerful blow,” Adam Gilchrist responded.
“Oh that is nasty, the hands were in position. There’s a bit of a claret there, hopefully that chap is okay because he’ll be needing a bit of treatment.”

Foxsports.com.au was told the fan is “filthy” he dropped the catch, with mates proclaiming he’s the leading catcher in his local cricket competition.
Cricket Australia confirmed the man’s cut was stitched up and he is ok.
Fox Cricket then showed footage of the man smiling with his head bandaged and his friends laughing with their arms around him.
“Fantastic by me,” the man said sarcastically into the camera.
“We patched him up and he looks pretty good, he’s just a one-eyed bandit now,” Brendon Julian said in commentary.
“I don’t reckon he’ll be going to the pub tonight,” Mark Waugh responded.
“I reckon he will, I reckon he definitely will,” Julian said.
