Wayne Bennett was at his grumpy best despite his side cementing top spot on the ladder as the Dolphins deal with a number of injuries to key players ahead of the Battle of Brisbane.
The Dolphins beat the Tigers 26-16, but will be sweating on shoulder injuries to star recruits Herbie Farnworth and Tom Flegler and a hamstring injury to Felise Kaufusi.
Wayne was brief in his responses even for his usual standards in his post match press conference.

Journalist: “Wayne, an unbelievably brave victory for your club tonight considering the injuries and having to finish with 12 men on the field.”
Bennett: “Yeah, I agree with that.”
Journalist: “Can you give us an update on the three players personally?”
Bennett: “Not really. We’re not sure ourselves, we know what the injuries are, but we don’t know the severity of them just yet.”
Journalist: “What are the injuries?”
Bennett: “AC joints mainly.”
Journalist: “Did Herbie dislocate his shoulder?”
Bennett: “No, AC joint.”

Journalist: “Felise Kaufusi has a hamstring injury as well,”
Bennett: “Yeah, he’s never run that fast before, has he? So he just to put himself in another place didn’t he?”
Journalist: ”What about Thomas Flegler?”
Bennett: “AC joint.”
Journalist: “That must be a relief, but there’s a little concern that there might have been something worse than that.”
Bennett: “Well AC joints can be pretty bad if you’ve got a good one. I think he’s got a good one. Sometimes they have to operate on them so we will just see.”

Journalist: “What were your thoughts on the game Wayne and how you got the two points?”
Bennett: “Well, I thought the Tigers were really brave. They were like us. They took some injuries too, and they were hanging out there. The humidity here tonight was pretty high. See both teams affected by it. Yeah, it was tough night.”
Journalist: “Wayne you don’t seem overly happy with that win?”
Bennett: “I’m happy with their effort yeah.”
Journalist: “Obviously, it’s a big win, leading into the Broncos on Friday night. Are the injuries now a concern?”
Bennett: “Well, the concern is that we’ve got the replacements to fill their places and do the job they’ve been doing, so that’s the issue.”
Journalist: “You think any of them are a chance?”
Bennett: “Kaufusi’s not. Flegler is. I don’t Herbie is. OK, thanks.”
