Heat spinner Mitch Swepson has lifted the lid on his superb ball in the BBL13 final that would have made Shane Warne proud after Brisbane clinched the title in style.
Swepson produced a stunning ball to have Jordan Silk stumped by Jimmy Peirson in a play that wouldn’t have looked out of place on Warne’s highlight reels.
“Absolutely they are the ones you practice, you deliver all the balls for hours and hours to deliver on the big stage,” Swepson said on Fox Cricket.

“That one just came out of the fingers perfectly and luckily Silk dragged his foot out.
“And Jimmy Peirson has been a great keeper for me my whole career and he had the bails off in no time, so I’ve got him to thank for that one as well.”

Swepson became emotional when processing the magnitude of the victory after years of heartache in his Heat career.
“I think maybe experience helps a little bit, this is my ninth year with the Brisbane Heat,” Swepson said.
“To be holding this big boy (trophy) here. It hasn’t really sunk in yet.
“It is a surreal feeling and I’m getting a little bit emotional to be honest.

“It is a great feeling. It has just been so long mate. As a club we have been through a lot.
“We have been through some really tough years and I have been there through most of them, so I guess this is just the peak of all those nine years of hard work to holding this trophy.
“I am very proud of all the boys and all the guys that got us here.”
Swepson also revealed he was devastated to miss selection in the previous final, but was happy to make amends after being a late inclusion for the final.
