The legend of Tommy Cutlets grows.
Tommy DeVito, an undrafted free agent who came into the year as the New York Giants’ third-string quarterback, led the side to a third straight win and kept them in the playoff picture with a 24-22 thriller over Green Bay.
With Daniel Jones injured, it was thought the Giants’ season was over, but with wins over Washington, New England and Green Bay last year’s surprise packets somehow remain in the NFC wildcard hunt at 6-8.

The Packers, meanwhile, copped a letdown game after Jordan Love’s impressive form had led the side to four wins from five games – including an upset of the Chiefs last time out.
DeVito wasn’t overly impressive but led the Giants well enough, especially in a last-minute, game-winning drive to set up a 37-yard field goal winner for Randy Bullock.
The win will only add to the growing love in New York for DeVito, whose Italian heritage gave him a major headstart, along with the admission he still lives at home because his mum’s chicken cutlets are so good.
“I don’t have to worry about laundry, what I’m eating for dinner, chicken cutlets and all that is waiting for me when I get there,” DeVito said.
“My mom still makes my bed. Everything is handled for me. Honestly, I don’t even know if I could find a place closer to here than where I live. It takes me 12 minutes to get here.”
The DeVitos even handed out chicken cutlets and pasta during their tailgate for the Giants-Packers game.
Meanwhile in Miami, Tennessee threw a wrench in the top of the AFC playoff race with a huge comeback to beat the Dolphins, 28-27.
The Titans looked to be done when two fumbles, on a punt return and their next offensive play, were recovered by the Dolphins deep in opposing territory resulting in short-field touchdowns for a 27-13 lead with 4:34 remaining.
But consecutive touchdown drives, surrounded by a forced three-and-out, allowed the Titans to hit the front as coach Mike Vrabel made the correct call to go for two on the first touchdown.
Converting it made the score 27-21, ensuring a touchdown and converted PAT would give them the win – had they failed on the two-point attempt, they could have still gone for another and tied the scores.
Tua Tagavailoa could not lead the Dolphins down for a game-winning touchdown, leaving Baltimore alone at the top of the AFC at 10-3, ahead of Miami (9-4).
