Just when you thought the Wests Tigers’ season couldn’t get any worse, captain Apisai Koroisau has been handed a three-match ban for a dangerous tackle during Friday’s Spoon Cup against the Parramatta Eels.
During the 51st minute of the Round 27 clash in Campbelltown, referee Peter Gough put Koroisau on report and sent him to the sin bin for a lifting tackle on rival captain Clint Gutherson. It was the Tigers’ 16th sin bin of the season, comfortably the most for any club this year.
On Saturday morning, Koroisau was handed a three-match suspension for the grade two dangerous throw, meaning the 31-year-old could be unavailable for the start of the 2025 season.
