The Titans have boosted their outside back stocks with Pillip Sami inking a two-year contract extension.

“Phil Sami will remain a one-club player, with the former Queensland Origin winger committing to the Titans until the end of 2026,” the Titans confirmed in a statement.

After making his debut on the Gold Coast in 2017, Sami has now played over 100 games for the Titans.

Already locked in for 2024, Sami has signed on for another two years taking his time at the Titans to ten years by the end of his contract.

Gold Coast coach Jim Lenihan says he’s thrilled that Sami will continue to be a Titan long-term.

“Phil is having one of his best seasons in the NRL and it is testament to the work he has put into his game,” Lenihan said.

“He was just a teenager when he made his debut for the club and now he’s grown into a player that’s really finding his place at the top level.

“Not surprisingly there was interest from other clubs in Phil and we’re thrilled that he has decided to continue his journey here at the Titans.”

PANTHERS UTILITY INKS EXTENSION

The Panthers have locked up reborn utility Tyrone Peachey with a one-year contract extension. “Penrith Panthers is pleased to announce Tyrone Peachey has re-signed with the club for the 2024 season,” the lcub said in a statement.

After re-joining the Panthers ahead of the 2023 campaign, Peachey has extended his deal for a further season.

Having made his NRL debut in 2013, Peachey has played 202 first grade games, three games for New South Wales (2018) and seven games for the Indigenous All Stars (2015-17, 19-21, 23), as well as appearances for NSW City Origin and the Prime Minister’s XIII.

“I’m really excited to be remaining at the Panthers for another year,” Peachey said.

“The Panthers is home for me and my family. I was really happy to re-join the club earlier this year, so to be staying here means a lot to me.”

Panthers Rugby League CEO Matt Cameron congratulated Peachey on his new contract.

“On behalf of all at Panthers, we’re excited for Tyrone to remain at the club for another season,” Cameron said.

“Not only has Tyrone made a great contribution to the Panthers on the field this year, he and his family have made a wonderful impact since returning to the club.”

DRAGONS POACH SOUTHS ENFORCER

The Dragons have announced the signing of Rabbitohs forward Hame Sele to a three-year deal from 2024 as incoming coach Shane Flanagan continues to make moves to improve his roster.

The 26-year-old is a Dragons junior, making his NRL debut for the Red V in 2017 and playing in 18 games for the club over the next two seasons.

“The Dragons are pleased to announce Hame Sele will be returning to the club next season,” a club-issued statement read.

Dragons General Manager of Football Ben Haran said the club is “excited” to regain Sele’s services.

“We’re excited to bring a local St George junior back to the club, particularly one who is now an established and consistent starting NRL forward,” said Haram.

“Hame’s qualities as a player and a person will make him a welcome addition to our roster as we move forward as a club.”
