Terrell May has revealed extension talks with the Wests Tigers have gone cold since the departure of former CEO Shane Richardson, who wanted to make the prop a Tiger for life.
The Daily Telegraph reported negotiations have stalled between May and the Tigers, despite the star prop being keen to stay at the club long-term.

“They were the chats we were having with Richo. He even came out publicly and said he wanted me to be a Tiger for life and that’s what we were working towards, but ever since he left it’s gone a bit dull,” May told The Daily Telegraph.
“I do see myself here forever, I love our fans and the club, but I think they totally forgot about it.”
The 26-year-old has scored eight tries in 77 games for the Roosters and Tigers since his debut in 2022 and has played six Tests for Samoa to date.
May is contracted until the end of the 2027 season along with brother Taylan May, so the pair will be free to negotiate with rival clubs from November 1 this year.
However, the May brothers are keen to finish their careers under Benji Marshall and were even keen to bring their other brother Tyrone home from Hull KR in the Super League to play all together.
BRONCOS EYE COWBOYS ENFORCER TO REPLACE HAAS
The Broncos are reportedly eyeing Cowboys enforcer Kaiden Lahrs, the son of a former Test prop, to replace Payne Haas after his defection to the Rabbitohs on a three-year deal.
WWOS’ The Mole reported Cowboys prop Lahrs is on a Broncos hit list of potential targets to replace Haas in 2027.
The 20-year-old has played seven games for the Cowboys since debuting for the club last season.
Off-contract at the end of the 2026 season, Lahrs has been free to negotiate with rival clubs from November 1 last year.
The Broncos are eyeing Xavier Willison as the man to step up and fill Haas’ starting void, but Lahrs could be an ideal prop to replace him on the bench rotation at the right price.
A former NSW under 19 and Australian Schoolboys star, Lahrs was born in Canberra — where his dad Tom made his name — before moving to Townsville with his family at the age of 15.
Tom Learoyd-Lahrs played 120 NRL games over stints at the Broncos, Raiders and Storm. He also played four Tests for Australia and made four State of Origin appearances for NSW.
Kaiden standing at a towering 190cm is a similar build to his father and would be a big body to help fill the void left by Haas in the front line.
With Adam Reynolds retiring at season’s end, it gives the Broncos a $1.5million war chest to go after some big names with Warriors prop Mitch Barnett and Sharks counterpart Toby Rudolf also looking for new clubs.
LEADING CONTENDER IN RACE FOR WARRIORS STAR AFTER RELEASE
Warriors and Blues star Mitch Barnett is reportedly on the radar of several clubs with one team leading the race at this early stage.
Last week, Barnett announced he’ll be leaving New Zealand at season’s end after being granted a release on compassionate grounds.
Wanting to be closer to his home town of Taree, the Knights emerged as the early favourites, however a Sydney-based club is showing great interest in the representative middle forward.
Eels coach Jason Ryles confirmed in a press conference on Tuesday that the club would be interested in potentially adding Barnett to their roster.
Journalist Dave Riccio expanded on Ryles’ comments on NRL360 before revealing they aren’t the only club showing interest.
However, it won’t be a decision Barnett makes too quickly.

“They will and they have. They’ve already held discussions with Mitch Barnett’s management and that’s a genuine option for Parramatta,” Riccio said
“They’re not the only club. Broncos, Knights and the Sea Eagles are watching the situation as well.
“He’d be significant for Parramatta or any club who picks him up. He’s a representative forward and it’s only through circumstance he’s leaving the Warriors.
“This one will play out a little bit longer.”
What could create a snag in Barnett’s decision is the Warriors’ request for compensation.
Warriors boss Cameron George has been blunt on the matter and says the club won’t rubberstamp Barnett’s next contract unless they are compensated in the form of a transfer fee or player swap or both.
This ongoing situation draws some parallels to the Zac Lomax saga which was put to a halt for now when the Eels and Storm couldn’t agree on compensation for the outside back.
