Max Holloway has sent combat sports fans into meltdown after delivering one of the most iconic knockouts in history to become the new BMF champion at UFC 300.
With ten seconds remaining in the fifth and final round of their lightweight showdown, Holloway gestured to his rival Justin Gaethje to meet him in the middle of the octagon and throw hands.
Gaethje, a total savage in his own right, was all too happy to oblige as the pair throw hands with no regard for defending themselves.
And with just one second on the clock, Holloway landed the cleanest of right hands that crumpled Gaethje and sent him to sleep in an instant.
It capped off a perfect five-round performance from Holloway who appeared to have broke Gaethje’s nose with a spinning back kick right at the end of the first round.
The Hawaiian native methodically picked Gaethje apart from that moment onwards but it came to a climax right at the death of their five round battle.

In his post-fight interview, Holloway called out featherweight champ Ilia Topuria and lightweight champ Islam Makhachev and emphatically declared: “I’m him.”
Not only that, but he demanded $600,000 worth of bonuses after believing he won the fight of the night and knockout of the night bonus which, upon reflection, is hard to disagree with.
UFC commentator Joe Rogan was flabbergasted as the rest of the combat sports world reaction with astonishment at what had just transpired in Las Vegas.
Rogan branded Holloway’s finish as “the greatest knockout of all time” and others concurred.
Respected MMA journalist Shaheen Al-Shatti wrote on X: “I’ve literally never seen anything like that.”
MMA Hour host Ariel Helwani posted: “Holy s***. That’s one of the greatest finishes ever.”
MMA Junkie reporter Danny Segura added: “What a f***ing scene. Unreal ending.”
