The sitting will start at 10.15. Following President Zelenskyy’s address via remote connection from Kyiv, MEPs will discuss the latest developments in Russia’s war of aggression, and European contributions to a just peace and sustained security for Ukraine. A resolution will be put to a vote at 11.30.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has said the session will send an “important signal” about the EU’s unwavering commitment to standing with Ukraine.

Since February 2022, the EU and Parliament have consistently backed Ukraine by condemning Russia’s aggression, imposing sanctions, and providing financial, political, military and humanitarian assistance. On 11 February, Parliament approved a €90 billion EU loan for Ukraine.

Parliament has repeatedly reaffirmed its solidarity and close partnership with Ukraine. This includes the inauguration of a permanent presence in Kyiv in September 2025, visits by President Metsola to Kyiv and the Verkhovna Rada, and addresses to Parliament by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Parliament has also strongly supported Ukraine’s efforts to join the EU. Commending the country’s extraordinary efforts under the most challenging circumstances, MEPs encourage Ukrainian authorities to maintain the current reform momentum, and called on the European Commission to open negotiating clusters to advance the country’s EU membership bid at the fastest pace possible.

You can follow the session live here.
