An Africa Cup T20 between Ghana and Sierra Leone has delivered two of the most bizarre cricketing dismissals in recent history on Monday.
The first came during Sierra Leone’s batting innings, with Abbas Gibla bunting the ball back to bowler Godfred Bakwenyam before taking off for a single.
Gibla spots he is in danger of being run out by the bowler and changes his line, darting back towards the ball and crashing into Bakwenyam.

The Sierra Leone seamer then grabbed his hand in pain before Ghana’s fielders appealed for a wicket to the umpire which was ultimately given and Gibla was sent packing.
Bakwenyam was then at the centre of another rare dismissal in Ghana’s batting innings, striding to the crease after his captain Samson Awiah’s wicket was taken.
As he prepared to face up, Sierra Leone appealed with one fielder tapping on his watch to claim Bakwenyam had taken longer than two minutes to be ready at the crease.
Once again the umpire raised his finger and sent Bakwenyam on his way with commentators saying: “that’s a wicket there with the batsmen being timed out”.
“The batsmen is still standing at his crease, he took a little bit of time there to be ready for the delivery,” he said.
