Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters has responded after Reece Walsh was involved in an ugly incident with a Penrith fan just three days before Sunday’s NRL decider.
Walsh was walking to the team hotel along Circular Quay on Thursday when he turned around and directed a comment to the young fan.
In a video uploaded to social media, Walsh is heard as saying, “I’ll take your mum’s”.

According to the X account who posted the short clip, Walsh was retaliating to the fan who said to the fullback, “Moses Leota will take your head off this weekend”.
As per The Daily Telegraph, the NRL Integrity Unit is aware of the matter.
Broncos coach Walters confirmed he had been informed of the incident by Broncos media staff but did not think there would be “much” to come from an NRL investigation.
“It’s difficult for Walshy,” Walters said on Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Leisel Jones, Liam & Dobbo.
“The amount of people that hate him… thankfully most people love him. But we’re in a bit of foreign territory here in New South Wales so there are people jealous of Reece because of the way he plays, his looks and all those things.

“That’s something he’s going to have to get on top of for the rest of his career because the great players going back to Wally Lewis were often heckled and booed in Sydney, so he’s got to get used to that and just get on with things.
“But you can’t take the Nerang out of the Nerang boy.
“We understand there’s an investigation but there won’t be much in it… Walshy is nice and tough and he’s from a great area in Queensland. Things aren’t going to always go to script or to plan.”
