Manly skipper Daly Cherry-Evans has officially rejected the club’s extension offer and confirmed 2025 will be his final season in Sea Eagles colours.

“Daly Cherry-Evans has decided not to accept a contract extension, confirming the 2025 season will be his last at the club,” Manly confirmed in a statement.
“The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles captain has officially declined a new two-year contract offer, after this week announcing he was leaving the club.
“Daly will depart the club at season’s end as the Sea Eagles’ most capped player, after 15 years on the Northern Beaches.”
Manly CEO Tony Mestrov is confident the star halfback will do everything in his power to make his final season at the club, one to remember.
“Obviously we are all disappointed that Daly has decided to end his stay at Manly, but we respect his decision,” Mestrov said.
“Only Daly knows what is right for him and his family.
“We do know that he is the ultimate professional and he will want to go out a winner.”
Cherry-Evans is yet to decide whether he will hang up the boots after this season and says his immediate focus is Sunday’s home game against the Parramatta Eels.
“I wanted to confirm I was leaving the club now, rather than making a call later in the season, so that we can get on with our goal of winning a premiership,” Cherry-Evans said.
“I love this club and this group of players.

The Sea Eagles play the Eels in Round 4 of the NRL Telstra Premiership at 4 Pines Park on Sunday 30th March. Kick-off is 4:05pm.
