Collingwood will face Brisbane in the 2023 AFL Grand Final.
For just the second time since 2017, both qualifying final winners claimed victory in their home preliminary finals, with the Magpies defeating GWS and the Lions defeating Carlton.
This will be the seventh time the Magpies and Lions have faced off for a VFL/AFL premiership, setting an AFL-era record with their third meeting since the competition went national, along with four Collingwood-Fitzroy Grand Finals.

WHAT TIME DOES THE AFL GRAND FINAL START?
The 2023 AFL Grand Final starts at 2:30pm AEST on Saturday September 30 at the MCG.
The pre-game entertainment featuring KISS is likely to start between 1pm and 1:30pm AEST, with details TBC.
Victoria has a Grand Final public holiday on Friday September 29.
HOW TO WATCH THE AFL GRAND FINAL
The 2023 AFL Grand Final will be broadcast live on Seven and 7Plus, and you can stream a replay on Kayo Sports.
The Grand Final can be streamed using the 7Plus app (if your device has the live TV feature enabled) and will finally be shown at better than 720p quality (depending on the speed of your internet connection).
These devices are compatible: Computer web browser, iOS devices (iPhone and iPad), Android devices (both phones and tablets), Telstra TV, Fetch TV, Apple TV (4th Generation and newer), Android TV (compatible with Google-certified Android TV OS), Samsung TV (compatible with Samsung Tizen OS), PlayStation 4 and 5, Chromecast, LG TV (models released in 2017 and newer).
Otherwise to watch it live on TV you will need free-to-air channels, or even a simple antenna plugged into the coaxial input on your TV.

WHO IS PLAYING IN THE AFL GRAND FINAL?
The Collingwood Magpies will face the Brisbane Lions in the 2023 AFL Grand Final on Saturday September 30 at 2:30pm AEST.
The Magpies are trying to win their first AFL premiership since 2010, having lost their last two Grand Finals (2011 vs Geelong, 2018 vs West Coast). It would be their record-equalling 16th premiership, tying them with old rivals Carlton and Essendon.
The Lions are trying to win their first AFL premiership since 2003, when they beat the Magpies (as they also did in 2002), and their fourth since the Brisbane-Fitzroy merger. Their last Grand Final appearance was 2004 (loss to Port Adelaide).
WHEN WILL THE AFL GRAND FINAL FINISH AND WHAT IF THERE’S A DRAW?
The 2023 AFL Grand Final will finish just after 5pm AEST, depending on quarter lengths and whether extra time is required.
Extra time would be required if scores are level at full-time. Both teams would have a six-minute break before the game resumes with two three-minute halves (plus time on). Teams swap ends after each half without a break.
An extra 10 interchanges are permitted in each half and do not roll over.
If scores are still level after the first extra time, another two halves of extra time would be played.
CAN I GET TICKETS TO THE AFL GRAND FINAL?
There are no general public tickets available to the Grand Final unless you purchase an expensive package, with all tickets allocated to clubs, members and corporates.
WHO IS PRESENTING THE PREMIERSHIP CUP?
A club great will hand over the cup to the winning coach and captain after the Grand Final.
The people involved will be named during the week before the Grand Final.
WHO IS THE 2023 AFL GRAND FINAL ENTERTAINMENT?
Iconic rock band KISS will headline the AFL Grand Final entertainment, performing pre-game at the MCG.
Also performing pre-game will be William Barton, Australia’s leading didgeridoo player; Jess Hitchcock, a Melbourne-based Indigenous singer-songwriter; and Mike Brady, who will perform throughout the retiring players motorcade.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke will perform the national anthem.
Mark Seymour, the former frontman of Hunters and Collectors who produced the iconic song Holy Grail, and The Undertow will perform at half-time.
WHO IS RUNNING IN THE GRAND FINAL SPRINT?
All 18 clubs are expected to have a representative in the 100-metre sprint held before the Grand Final.
The players representing each club are set to be named in the week before the Grand Final.
The reigning champion is Richmond’s Hugo Ralphsmith. Past winners include Josh Rotham (West Coast), Jordan Clark (Geelong), Ben King (Gold Coast), Connor Menadue (Richmond) and Majak Daw (North Melbourne).
