Who needs a training camp?
After being called up just 30 hours before the bout, Troy Pilcher downed former world champion Renold Quinlan on Wednesday night’s No Limit Boxing on Fox card.
Quinlan was the IBO super-middleweight champion thanks to a knockout of Daniel Geale in 2016, and coming off a TKO victory in late 2023 in Fiji, was set to main event the card.

Yet he showed up almost 5 kilograms heavy for his planned main event against Bilal Akkawy and that disappointment continued once he got into the ring.
Pilcher, who came in unbeaten over eight fights in two years but little-known, had the advantage of being an existing heavyweight.
He knocked out Haze Hepi on the undercard of Tim Tszyu’s fight with Carlos Ocampo on the Gold Coast last year.
According to Fox Sports boxing commentator Ben Damon, Pilcher got a text message as he was leaving work on Tuesday afternoon and flew from the Gold Coast to Sydney that night.
He had advantages of 17cm in height and 20cm in reach, plus 7 kilograms, and used them on route to a unanimous 59-55 win on the cards.
“Who needs a six-week training camp when you can do that on one day’s notice?” host Megan Barnard asked on Fox Sports.
