Herald Sun Chief Football Writer Mark Robinson has labelled James Sicily’s act of kicking an opponent “one of the real low acts in football” on Fox Footy’s AFL 360.
The Hawthorn skipper received a one-match ban for kicking Essendon’s Andrew McGrath in his side’s loss to the Bombers on Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks confirmed today that they would be challenging the suspension at tomorrow night’s AFL Tribunal, with the club expected to question whether the impact was enough to warrant a suspension.

“Who the hell do you think you are?” Robinson said.
“They shouldn’t challenge (the suspension).
“James Sicily deserves to get suspended for that.
“‘I didn’t kick him hard’, what sort of defence is that?
“It’s absolute rubbish.”
The incident was graded as intentional and medium impact.
The AFL 360 co-host implored the AFL to stamp these “low acts” out of the game.
“He kicked a person in a game of football… it’s always been seen as one of the real low acts in football,” Robinson said.
“The AFL absolutely must stress that this is not on in the game.”
It comes after St Kilda champion Leigh Montagna questioned the suspension on Fox Footy’s First Crack.
“I don’t know if this is really worth a week,” Montagna said.
“I think there’s a little bit of ‘James Sicily tax’ in that.
“It’s a sweeping little brush to his thigh, I don’t think that deserves a week. I think (it’s) because it’s James Sicily.”
Should Sicily’s ban be upheld at the Tribunal, he would miss Hawthorn’s clash with Melbourne in round two.
