Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel saved his side with an incredible stoppage-time equaliser to rescue a point against Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish side took the lead in the 29th minute through Pablo Barrios and looked to be leaving Rome with all three points.

However, Provedel produced a true striker’s finish to ensure Lazio would not begin their Champions League campaign with a defeat.
Atletico failed to properly clear the ball from a Lazio corner, before the ball found its way to Lazio’s Luis Alberto on the edge of the box.
As Alberto prepared to whip in the cross, the unmarked Provedel darted through Atletico’s defensive lines and timed his run to perfection to nod home past Jan Oblak, sparking wild scenes at the Stadio Olimpico.
Provedel’s 95th-minute strike also made him just the fourth different goalkeeper to score in a Champions League fixture and the first to do so since 2010.
Elsewhere across Europe, Newcastle secured a point in their first Champions League match since March 2003 as they held AC Milan to a scoreless draw in Italy.
Eddie Howe’s side had goalkeeper Nick Pope to thank for the clean sheet as the England international made a whopping eight saves to keep Milan at bay.

Manchester City were forced to come from behind against Red Star Belgrade in a 3-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
The visitors took a shock lead on the stroke of halftime when Osman Bukari broke City’s offside trap and coolly slotted past Ederson.
Bukari’s goal was initially flagged for offside, but a short VAR review proved otherwise and sparked jubilant scenes amongst the Serbian side.
However, City equalised within two minutes in the second half as Julian Alvarez showcased some flashy footwork to round the goalkeeper and fire into an empty net.
Pep Guardiola’s side continued to ramp up the intensity and it seemed only a matter of time before they found a second goal.
It took less than 15 minutes for Alvarez to bag his second of the game when Red Star goalkeeper Omri Glazer butchered a free-kick from the Argentinian forward.
City would score their third thanks to a curled effort from Rodri in the 73rd minute.
