Foxsports.com.au first reported Hayne was close to signing with Wentworthville last month ahead of the Nines Premier League on the Gold Coast where he played for the United Sporting Club.
The Magpies are a former long-term feeder team of Hayne’s previous NRL club Parramatta. The Ron Massey Cup is the second-tier competition of the NSWRL behind the NSW Cup.
Hayne had a glittering NRL career before a dramatic fall from grace when he was accused of sexual assault.
He was tried three times over the incident, which took place on the night of the 2018 NRL Grand Final.
The first ended in a hung jury, he was found guilty after the second but then won an appeal and then his conviction was quashed in the third trial.
Hayne last played major rugby league in 2018.

The dual Dally M medallist is already training twice a week with his new Magpies teammates according to Code Sports.
Magpies president Elias Kassab says the club is “willing to give anyone a second chance” with Hayne also brought on to help coach the club’s junior teams.
“We have looked thoroughly into this before making the decision to have Jarryd join us,’’ Kassab told Code Sports.
“He’s a different person now. We’re happy that he could be playing for us and working with the little ones coming through the grades.
“A lot of people will have their opinions, but we know how sincere Jarryd is in wanting to give back to the game in a positive fashion.
“We are willing to give anyone a second chance so long as they are sincere and Jarryd has been nothing but sincere and honest about things.’’
