Andrew McQualter, who coached Richmond to a 7-6 record in 2023 while it sought a replacement for the departed Damien Hardwick, returns as coach of the Eagles; winless through eight games.
Richmond premiership heroes Liam Baker and Jack Graham also face their old teammates while now in West Coast colours, as the 16th-placed Tigers plot their third win of the season.
Richmond has won four of its past five clashes with West Coast but lost by 39 points to the Eagles in Perth last season.
Adem Yze made two changes to the side that fell to Hawthorn in Round 8, rewarding Tom Sims with a league debut and recalling Kane McAuliffe for his first senior match of the season. Maurice Rioli and James Trezise were omitted.
McQualter, meanwhile, ended up making four changes after Allen’s out, recalling Sandy Brock, Tom Gross, Bailey J. Williams and Harry Edwards for Jeremy McGovern, Bo Allan and Jack Williams.
McAuliffe (Tigers) and Gross (Eagles) are the starting substitutes for each side.
