Australia’s World Cup heroes Travis Head and Mitchell Starc look set for huge paydays at the Indian Premier League auction on Tuesday night and they could be reunited with coach Justin Langer. Live updates in the blog below!
They are two of 21 Australians in the annual mini-auction (different to the mega-auction held every three years) which can turn cricketers into overnight multi-millionaires.
Head’s standout performances at the ODI World Cup last month will influence bidders after the left-handed batsman scored 62 against South Africa in the semis and then a matchwinning 137 against India in the final.

Starc returns to the IPL after an eight-year break and the left-arm quick is also expected to go for huge cash at the auction in Dubai.
The bidding for both players will begin at the highest reserve price of INR 2 crore ($357,000 AUD) but the duo are expected to earn into the millions.
Pat Cummins, Steve Smith and Josh Inglis – who are also listed at the top reserve price – are also expected to earn big money after helping lead Australia to World Cup glory last month.
